Jasper aka Andmon Ronty
Six years ago my family and I made the decision to immigrate to the United States. This was supposed to be an exciting occasion but instead it brought us a lot of heartache. Sadly we had to find a home for our beautiful Bullmastiff Jasper. He was only 18 months old at the time yet I felt like I had already had him a lifetime. He was such a very special dog and we had spent some time in the Show ring and he had shown that he was a fine example of the Bullmastiff. Thanks to Carole King, we found him the perfect home. We drove him up to Johannesburg and handed him over to his new owners, Hertzel and Maureen Levine. Leaving him there was one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do, but in my heart I knew that he would be well taken care of. Over the past 6 years the Levine's have faithfully kept in contact with us, telling us about every one of Jasper's wins in the show ring and we were constantly sent pictures. Two years ago I made a trip back to South Africa and I visited the Levine's and our beautiful boy, Jasper. I knew that Jasper was well taken care of but seeing him so happy in their home gave me a sense of peace and helped me overcome the feeling of guilt that I had from all those years ago when I had to leave him. Sadly, I recently got the news that Jasper had taken ill and not long after he passed away. No words can really describe the feeling of sadness that I have. Jasper was a very special dog to me and was loved by many people - most of all the Levine's. To Hertzel and Maureen, I wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking Jasper into your home and giving him a lifetime of love. I hope that someday you will be able to once again open your home and your heart to another dog so that they too can experience what it is like to live in heaven on earth.
